i got a chance to watch a jdrama these past few days, "pride" to be specific. a friend recommended it so i thought i should give it a try. and my conclusion? it was a pretty enjoyable series until the last 3 episodes. after the "boyfriend" character showed up, i found myself rushing through it like crazy. by that point, it became rather exhausting to watch the main characters. however, i must say that i now understand why kimura takuya is so popular with the snsd girls. (note: i just got into jdramas recently, so this is my first kimura takuya series) though halu was border line annoying in the beginning, his portrayal made it hard to truly dislike the character.

and good news! my order for the refurbished 580ex ii came in today. though i'm still unfamiliar with it, i can say that i am VERY happy with it. don't feel too bad spending $400 bucks on it now =P

winter quarter is over! however, looks like i'll getting the first unattractive grade of my college career. but nonetheless, SO GLAD break is here. hopefully i'll be able to give LJ a better try considering i've failed to post/write the past 2 years since i've created this account. i've been in the lurking shell for too long.

For the most part, I really like romantic comedy films by GTH. Seasons Change and Dear Galileo are probably two of my favorite Thai films. Given this, I was really looking forward to Bangkok Traffic love Story (aka Rot Fai Faa..Maa Haa Na Ter).

I heard from my mom how she much enjoyed the film and how my cousin watched it twice in the theaters. And after finishing it, I can see why they felt that way. The film had a lot of likable elements, mainly its comedic features (e.g. Thai drama parody, Li's family's Chinese roots, exaggerated acting) and its GREAT cast. Who else better to play Mr. Perfect that Mr. Perfect himself? The female characters were also well casted; Cris, Pattie, and Opal were great in their roles. Yet, I found the film lacking by the end of it. I can't really pinpoint why, but I think the main reason is that it didn't draw me in on other levels than the obvious plot and characters. And there's one person to blame for this: my film professor.

Nonetheless, if you're looking for something light-hearted to bring a smile on your face, I'd still recommend it. But if you're looking for more...that's another story.
